Victoria pioneers passkey on myVicRoads app
VicRoads has become the first in Australia to introduce a passkey login for the digital driver licence wallet app, setting a benchmark for secure and seamless access to registration and licensing services.
As of July 2025, customers using the myVicRoads app can log in using passkeys – a faster, safer, and simpler method that uses built-in phone features like Face ID, fingerprint or PIN.
Passkeys are 5.5 times faster than traditional logins, saving customers over 30,000 days of login time every year – that's more than 82 years of time back in their hands.

What are passkeys?
Passkeys replace traditional usernames and passwords with a secure pair of cryptographic keys – one stored on your device, the other held by VicRoads.
