Customer number

Frequently asked questions about your VicRoads customer number.

Your VicRoads customer number (also known as a client ID) is a unique identification number used to manage your licensing and vehicle registration in Victoria.

If you have a Victorian driver or marine licence, your customer number is your licence number. Also, if you have a car registered in your name, you will have a customer number.

To find your customer number, log into your myVicRoads account (click ‘Profile & Settings’ and then ‘Profile’) or the myVicRoads app (click ‘Profile’, then ‘Personal information’, then ‘Profile’).

Your customer number is also on the back of your registration renewal notices, or on other official correspondence from VicRoads.

To get a customer number, you need to sign up for a myVicRoads account and visit a VicRoads Customer Service Centre with original identification documents (such as your passport or birth certificate) and proof of your Victorian address.
