Getting started with a business account
To be eligible for a myVicRoads business account, you need:
- an Australian Company Number (ACN), or
- an Australian Registered Body Number (ARBN).
Businesses that aren’t companies and only have an ABN (like sole traders) are not eligible for a business account.
To get started:
- Submit a request for a myVicRoads business account.
- We’ll get in touch with you about your account.
- Once you’ve received an invitation letter from us, you can sign up for a business account. Use the verification code in the letter.
With a business account, managing your vehicle registrations becomes a whole lot easier. Here’s some of the things you can do:
- bulk renewals for multiple vehicles in a single transaction
- manage payment methods and opt-in to direct debit
- change to paperless registration renewals and reminders
- single view of all vehicles registered to your business.
Who can set up a business account
The person who sets up your account must have the authority to manage vehicles on behalf of your business. This could be:
- a director of operations or fleet manager, for a large organisation
- the company secretary, for an incorporated body
- the owner, for a small business.
If you’re not this person, you’ll need their permission. Once you have their consent, enter their name and title when prompted during the sign-up process.
Once your account has been activated, you can add up to 5 users to the account.
Account access help
Make sure you use an up-to-date browser so your experience with VicRoads online services is smooth, secure and error-free.
Having trouble?
- install the latest browser version
- enable JavaScript and cookies, clear your cache and delete temporary internet files
- disable browser extensions that may interfere with website functionality
- for mobile devices, use the default browser or Chrome or Safari.
It might take a few moments for your activation email to come through. If it has been more than an hour:
- check your junk or spam folder, just in case the email has been incorrectly filtered
- click the link in the final step of the sign-up process to have your activation email resent.
Tried the above but still having trouble? Contact VicRoads support.
Your verification code is in the invitation letter we sent you. If you’ve misplaced or lost the invitation letter, you’ll need to contact VicRoads support to ask for a new one.
Created or changed your password in the last 24 hours? You’ll have to wait another 24 hours before you can reset your password.
Account locked? It will automatically unlock after 24 hours. If you need urgent assistance to access your account, contact VicRoads support.
Managing users and businesses
You can add a maximum of five users to your account. To add new users, repeat the steps in the sign up process.
Each user will need:
- the same verification code in the invitation letter we sent you
- the same VicRoads customer number that was used when your business account was created.
Verification code expired? Complete the request a business account process and we’ll email you a new code.
You can access multiple business accounts using the same email address and password.
You’ll need to activate each account in a specific order:
- Follow the sign up steps for your primary organisation’s business account.
- Activate the primary account through the activation link that we’ll email you.
- Then follow the sign up steps for your second organisation’s business account (your password and secret questions will be the same as those created for your first organisation, and you’ll be prompted to enter the password when you enter your email address).
- Activate the second account using the link in the email we send you.
The next time you log in, you can choose the business you want to access.
