Second-hand light vehicles

To register manually:

• confirm vehicle status through the Personal Property Securities Register
• complete all sections of the Vehicle registration application form (PDF) (including signatures)
• attach the number plate bar code label to the top right-hand corner of the application
• attach all relevant documentation (concession application etc.)
• complete the registration certificate
• issue appropriate number plate(s)
• complete the manual (offline) registration summary statement, including all fees payable, plus the inspection fee and administration fee for each registration
• mail all registration forms, summary statement and payment (by cheque or credit card) to VicRoads within 48 hours (2 working days) in the “white” prepaid envelope.

• completed dealer vehicle registration form

• completed registration concessions form and copy of card (if applicable)

• completed certificate of approved operations form. Please select the relevant certificate of approved operations form from the list of level 1 to level 7 forms. Email [email protected] to get the correct form (if required)

• completed Manual (offline) registration summary form (PDF)

• fees paid by cheque or credit card.

Do not send roadworthy certificates.

Keep a copy of all registration documentation at the dealership for auditing purposes. 
 
Number plates and a registration label (vessels only) must be attached to the vehicle and be clearly visible before the vehicle may be used on a road or public place.
