- You must issue number plates in order of sequence from a single open box, for example ABC 123, ABC 124, ABC 125.
- You can only issue number plates to a vehicle which is owned or sold from stock by the dealership at the time of the transaction.
- Issue the appropriate type of number plate to each vehicle.
- Charge the correct number plate issue fee when registering a vehicle with a new standard, slimline, custom, euro, personalised or special interest plate.
- You must not swap or transfer number plates between dealerships.
Dealers are reminded that motor vehicles registered in their name are only exempt from the payment of motor vehicle duty if they are registered as demonstrator vehicles or LMCT trading stock. For further information, please visit the State Revenue Office's webpage on exemptions and reductions.
