This application allows you to calculate the cost of an Unregistered Vehicle Permit (UVP) and purchase a permit that is subject to specific conditions of use such as:
  • preparing a vehicle for registration; or
  • driving a vehicle from place to place on a one off basis
  • and can only be issued for trips commencing in Victoria.

A card payment fee applies to all VISA or Mastercard payments. Bank accounts cannot be used for this transaction.

To purchase an Unregistered Vehicle Permit you will need the following:
  • some vehicle details such as the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) or engine or chassis number
  • a MasterCard or Visa

Your obligations

To apply for an Unregistered Vehicle Permit, you must declare that the vehicle is safe to use on a road or highway and:
  • the registration is not current or suspended due to an unrepaired safety related issue;
  • is not recorded as a statutory write-off;
  • is not recorded as stolen;
  • is not subject to a Fines Victoria sanction
You can check that the vehicle accords with the above conditions by using the Personal Property Securities Register and Registration check.
