New Licence Testing Centres

Find out more about our new Licence Testing Centres including location details, available services, parking and transport options.

Check available appointments

Drive Tests, Hazard Perception Tests and Learner Permit Tests are currently in high demand. To avoid disappointment, please check which appointments are available at the Customer Service Centre you intend to book with before proceeding with your booking.

Due to the impacts of COVID-19, VicRoads had to suspend all licence testing in Victoria on two occasions since 25 March. The new sites are a critical component of our Return to Service planning to enable us to deliver more appointments when licence testing resumes in metro Melbourne.

See Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) for each of our new Licence Testing Centres below.

Will the new centres accept cash?

No, all new centres will be cashless and will accept credit or debit card payments only.

Can I do a quick transaction, like renew my registration, at the new sites?

The new sites can only provide licence testing services that are available by appointment. We are unable to provide customers walk-in and other services over the counter as it’s not a Customer Service Centre (CSC). We’re asking all customers to avoid visiting a CSC unless their matter is urgent and go online to complete their transactions.

Can I book an appointment at the new centres?

On the 16th November Victorian Government announced licence testing re-opened for new customer bookings across Melbourne.

The easiest way to make an appointment is online, or alternatively you can call us on 13 11 71.

Customers with suspended appointments who have been given priority to rebook their tests are able to contact VicRoads on a dedicated number previously provided to book an appointment.

Hardship and special circumstances appointments will continue to be offered for eligible customers who would experience undue hardship as a result of not sitting a licence test.

Is there cleaning conducted at the new centres?

All VicRoads centres have implemented a strengthened cleaning regime during COVID-19, including commercial cleaning multiple times throughout the day and overnight.

Do the new centres follow all social distancing requirements?

Each site has a limited number of people allowed to enter due to social distancing. The office setup for staff and customer spaces in each site has been setup to meet DHHS requirements for safe physical distancing.

You’re asking customers to give their personal details when they enter a Licence Testing Centre. What are you going to do with this information?

Personal details will be collected on your arrival at all our LTCs. Personal details collected for contact tracing will be limited to your name, a contact phone number, and the time you attended a Licence Test Centre. This information will only be used by DHHS for contact tracing if required. All contact tracing details are destroyed after 28 days as per DHHS requirements.

What safety measures are in place?

To protect the health and wellbeing of all customers and staff, our COVIDSafe Plan including strict hygiene protocols will be in place for both drive test vehicles and at our Customer Service Centres. For more information go to Safety operating procedures for licence testing.

Will VicRoads provide me with a face mask if I don’t have one?

No. All customers are expected to bring their own face mask when visiting a Licence Testing Centre.

Should I arrive early for my appointment?

All new sites have been established to assist with giving customers access to appointments as soon as possible. As we will be utilising them at maximum capacity we expect customer volumes to be high. This along with COVID-19 social distancing rules, means we ask you to attend the office no more than 5 minutes prior to your appointment time to assist with customer flow.
